Consulate General of India, Phuentsholing (Bhutan)
Consulate General of India in Phuentsholing came into being in October 2006. Prior to this, a Liaison Office of the Embassy of India, Thimphu in Phuentsholing existed since 1976. The Consulate has in its jurisdiction the districts of Chukha, Samdrup Jongkhar, Samtse, Sarpang, Dagana and Pemagatshel in Bhutan.
About Phuentsholing
Phuentsholing is a border town in Chukha District of Bhutan and is located right across the Indian town of Jaigaon (State of West Bengal). With a population of over 28,000 (2022 estimate), Phuentsholing is the second largest city in Bhutan.
